Aim

The aim of this task is to define the image- and model-based radiation therapy planning workflow and to implement this workflow into a software demonstrator platform, thereby integrating software components resulting from all other tasks. This platform will be called the “Digital Radiation Therapy Patient” platform.

Approach

First the required clinical workflow will be specified. Thereafter, available software components for image processing, image-based radiobiological modeling and biological & biophysical modeling will be integrated into a patient-specific radiation therapy planning software demonstrator platform. With this platform radiation dose painting will be possible.

Expected outcome

This task will deliver the software radiation therapy planning platform that is suitable for multi-center clinical evaluation (see also task “Clinical Evaluation”).
